Hi! I am Pride Smith – Professional Designer, Educator, Creative

Life can take you exactly where you want to go, on a very defined path. It can also be very fluid and full of adventure and exploration. I opted for both paths.

I was born into a family of creative people. My father was a pilot and engineer. My mother was a designer and artist. My siblings are all filled with creativity and I am lucky enough to be the youngest, because I got to learn from them all.

My passion is My Family, People and Life. I have created many things, I have spent a lot of time with people from all over the world, I have traveled and I have loved much.

My career path has taken me on a journey of Art, Design, Engineering, Adventure and Creativity.

There is one part of my journey that I never would have placed myself in, yet it is one of my most favorite journeys of all of them that I’ve been on. I approached Vista Charter School in 2009 about setting up a program in which I wanted to teach their students Adobe’s software on a college level. Some of the staff were excited, some were apprehensive. I was also approached at this same time by DXATC to teach Adobe’s software at their Applied Technology College. I had never taught before, other than a few private classes to friends and business colleagues.

What happened from there is a long story, with a lot of triumphs. I’ll spare all the details, but what I will tell you is this. I fell in love with teaching people and sharing my knowledge with them. There is no greater joy to me than to help people find their passion in life.  To show them a path they never considered and watching them grasp it and fall in love with it. To see the look of triumph in someone’s eyes as they see a whole new life open ahead of them.

In being fluid, I found a love for a new path. That is who I am. Life is fluid, I am not afraid of it or what each new opportunity holds.

You have found your way here. Perhaps there is a part of me that can be a part of your journey.
